Eat the Bird proprietor Dan Aldridge claimed the highest prize yesterday (November 7) on the Street Food Championships after seeing off competitors from 14 different cooks – with dishes starting from goat tacos to smashed burgers – at a stay cook-off at Big Penny Social.
His Korean-inspired ‘Chicktator’ burger, which mixes fried rooster with a candy and sticky gochujang glaze, home made kimchi and ssamjang mayo, was sufficient for the restaurant to assert its place on the prime of the perch.
Before launching Eat the Bird in Taunton in 2017, Dan honed his craft in a avenue meals trailer that he towed to native villages, festivals and competitions.
