AUBURN — The Stanton Bird Club plans to host the primary in its 2023-24 lecture collection that includes Amber Whittaker, senior geologist with the Maine Geological Survey, at 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, on the Auburn Public Library, 49 Spring St.
Prior to returning to her home state of Maine in 2016, Whittaker’s profession encompassed each business and graduate work in various locales reminiscent of New Mexico and New Zealand. Her skilled journey has taken her throughout the globe, together with Maine, the desert Southwest, the European Alps, the Southern Alps, and Antarctica, the place she engaged in in depth geological lab and fieldwork.
Her main duties contain conducting bedrock mapping and creating bedrock geologic maps for publication. In addition to her mapping endeavors, she collaborates intently with educational establishments and state and federal businesses on grant-funded tasks and the publication of peer-reviewed articles.
