“As the aircraft started taxiing on the runway, we suddenly realised its speed had reduced. It finally came to a halt,” said among the travelers. “We were told the flight is going to return to the apron due to some operational reasons. Later, we came to know that it had suffered a bird-hit,” said the traveler. No one was hurt.
The IndiGo flight number 6E-6077 was scheduled to leave at 7.55 am. The airline companies provided travelers complete refund if they did not plan to continue the journey. One of the 170 travelers chose it. Around 4 pm, an alternate airplane was organized and 169 travelers flown to Srinagar by the airline companies.
A group from the Director General Civil Aviation and safety control department of IndiGo will perform an examination of the airplane, said sources.
