SLCPD officer helps injured young hawk

SALT LAKE CITY — A Salt Lake City officer on patrol was in a position to get an injured hawk the assistance it wanted on Thursday afternoon.

The man advised the officer that the chicken received hit by a automotive, and it struggled to maneuver, so he picked it as much as assist get the chicken off the road.

According to police, the officer known as Utah’s Division of Wildlife Resources, who referred the officer to take the chicken to a personal animal care facility within the Salt Lake Valley.

“With the little feathered friend safely nestled in the knit hat, the officer took the bird for a medical evaluation,” the SLCPD press launch said. “The facility confirmed the bird was a young hawk and admitted it.”

Police ask anybody who finds injured wildlife to contact the suitable wildlife rehabilitator so the proper company can maintain the animal. If an animal is a possible hazard for no matter cause, like an injured deer blocking site visitors, it’s best to name 9-1-1.
