Free bird!
A wicked family pet emu ran the cage in Massachusetts, triggering an hours-long authorities chase to take place, WCVB reported.
The flightless bird, which is belonging to Australia and associated to the ostrich, got away from its home in East Bridgewater, simply south of Boston, by leaping over a 6-foot fence.
“They can do about 35 (miles per hour), so she was flying,” the bird’s owner, Lee Flaherty, informed the news outlet. “She ran all the way up to an intersection and then cut into a field. I got up to her in the field and was walking with her and she wouldn’t come. She was terrified.”
Flaherty thinks that a wild animal might have triggered the bird, called Mallory, to make the leap.
The emu weaved through surrounding Brockton for more than 3 hours, crossing crossways and running beside automobiles up until Flaherty and a spectator lastly captured Mallory in a shopping mall car park.
Mallory was reminded her pen after her long journey to reconnect with her buddy, Mickey, WCVB reported.
Flaherty said the emu had actually sustained a small leg injury from her experience, however would be all right.
