BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – An online conference is being held Wednesday to get bird watchers associated with the Christmas Bird Count.
According to the Vermont Land Trust, it’s been more than 100 years given that the Audubon Society released the very first Christmas Bird Count. They state it’s now the country’s longest-running neighborhood science bird task.
Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., scientists will describe how it works, why it is very important and how individuals can contribute essential information.
Specialists state there are a number of birds that remain the state in the winter season and can be identified at bird feeders.
