A North Texas fowl proprietor spent a lot of Sunday and Monday working to his beloved pet macaw again in his care. Now, Giulio Ferrari wants assist rescuing his feathered buddy.

“My heart is broken. It’s like your child is on top of a tree,” Ferrari mentioned.

Samba is Ferrari’s 15-year-old brightly feathered Catalina Macaw. The fowl flew the coop Sunday afternoon whereas at a photoshoot at Lewisville Lake.

“This big gust of wind blew out of nowhere, and that’s what startled him,” Ferrari mentioned. “I wasn’t fast enough to run after him, and he just flew.”

For hours, Ferrari mentioned he tried luring Samba again.

“Until 9:30 p.m.. Until he went to sleep,” Ferrari mentioned. “I was shooing off the hawks.”

At the bottom of the tree, Ferrari left a flashlight to mark his place, water, and a be aware for these walking by.

“His wing is clipped. So, he will not be able to fly long distances,” Ferrari mentioned. “He will stay within a 100-yard radius.”

By the afternoon, a fireplace engine with the Lewisville Fire Department arrived to assist get well Samba. For about two hours, fireplace fighters tried to rescue Samba by propping up a ladder and utilizing the bucket of the fireplace truck. However, Samba continued to fly away.

On Monday night, Samba was attacked by a number of hawks. The fowl survived. Although mentally exhausted, Ferrari mentioned he has not misplaced hope in reuniting along with his pet macaw.

Unfortunately, this isn’t Samba’s first tree escape. In 2012 NBC 5 reported on the macaw’s three-day stunt.

“You guys came out and on the third day of it being on the news, a guy with a construction company who had a cherry picker came. I got up on it,” Ferrari mentioned.

The fowl had been spooked by fireworks and was ultimately rescued.

Ferrari mentioned he thinks a donated cherry picker or growth raise may as soon as once more be the answer.

“I really need someone that has an all-terrain boom lift that will go all the way up,” Ferrari mentioned. “We are hoping he flies onto a shorter tree.”

As of Monday evening, Samba remains to be caught in a tree.
