Red Bird Produce is the brainchild of Casey Hobbs, a West Coast transplant who needed to supply a constant possibility for folks to get high quality, native produce at an inexpensive value. Before founding Red Bird Produce, Hobbs studied beneath Tamra Murphy (one of many first farm-to-table cooks) and ran the meals pantry program at Urban Ministry.

“The amount of support we’ve received from the community has been incredible. Even total strangers have donated to our GoFundMe, which saved us from having to go into debt to get to where we are. Old friends offered their support and our architect, Page Ledbetter, has done an outstanding job at transforming this space. We can’t wait to pour that support right back into the community!”

“I originally made the Little Red Bird Nest as a place for my kids to hang out while I worked on the shop, but I’ve kept it around for other parents. I painted some chalkboard paint onto the walls, and there are different toys like a little play kitchen for kids to enjoy. I sanded the wood planks for kids to stack and play all kinds of games. It’ll be fun to see other kids running around there too!”
