PARIS, Nov 9 (Reuters) – Hungary reported an outbreak of extremely pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza, generally known as chook flu, on a fattening duck farm within the northeastern a part of the nation, the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) stated in a report on Thursday.
The virus was detected on a farm within the Szabolcs-Szatmar-Bereg county, it stated, citing native authorities.
Bird flu, which has led to the culling of a whole bunch of thousands and thousands birds up to now years, normally strikes through the autumn and winter. It is transmitted through the faeces of contaminated migrating wild birds or by direct contact with contaminated feed, clothes and tools.
