A Southend Pier and Railway spokesman stated: “Some uncommon feathered guests have been noticed at Southend Pier!
“The White-billed Diver – in any other case often called a Yellow-billed Loon – is a uncommon sight in Southend…

According to the British Trust for Ornithology, the White-billed Divier is a “scarce” customer to Britain and Ireland – with sightings principally recorded in Scotland.
The Arctic species breeds primarily alongside the coasts of the Arctic Ocean.
One customer who noticed the birds yesterday took to X – previously Twitter – to say: “Well that was a loopy day!
