Birdie, eagle, albatross, hawk. One of those don’t belong on the golf course — except that course was Indian Hill Club on Aug. 16.
A red-tail hawk grew to become the focus on the Winnetka facility when it was caught in a discarded fishing line in a tree.
Dan Dunn, who witnessed the scene, stated the chook was entangled into the road and hanging by its neck, struggling, when Winnetka firefighters — Lt. Jon Colpaert and firefighters Zach Fudalej and Christian Kroeger — confirmed up and saved its life.
According to Dunn, a firefighter waded into the water and raised a pole for the hawk to seize onto, whereas one other firefighter lower the department.
They lowered the hawk to the bottom, wrapped it in a towel and lower the road from its neck.
Dunn stated the hawk was calm through the occasion and, after a pair images, was launched, flying away seemingly unhurt.
