Forest and Wildlife Ecology 521: Birds of Southern Wisconsin consists of a weekend excursion in addition to much shorter journeys throughout the routine weekly conferences. On Sunday, April 23, they went to Spring Green Preserve as part of an all-day journey invested along the Lower Wisconsin Riverway. As mentor assistants Ashley Olah and Ryan Buron directed trainees, they were shocked to see and determine a really unusual bird for Wisconsin – a Painted Redstart.
The types is mainly discovered in Mexico with a breeding variety that hardly extends into the U.S. Olah and Buron notified trainer Anna Pidgeon and the other mentor assistants. Pidgeon headed out a couple of hours later on and had the ability to move the bird and take pictures.
The undergraduate trainees on the journey had rather the experience discovering their birds and seeing direct how anything is possible throughout migration.
