An Exmouth photographer has gained a contest aimed toward elevating consciousness of an endangered species of chook, the curlew.

Derek Carter triumphed within the contest organised by McCarthy Stone, the developer of The Curlews Retirement Living Plus group on Merchant Avenue.

Competing with fellow photographers in Devonshire, Mr Carter’s profitable {photograph} expertly captured the uncommon chook in its pure habitat, the Exe Estuary.

Mr Carter’s image can be exhibited in The Curlews’ Homeowners Lounge for residents and guests to admire.
