PRESS RELEASE
. ORILLIA NATURALISTS’ CLUB

.
The Orillia Christmas Bird Count is turning up for Saturday, Dec. 17.
Given that 1981 members and pals of the Orillia Naturalists’ Club have actually been recording a tasting of birds, discovered in a circle, 25 kilometres in size, which centres on Bass Lake.
Individuals, divided into 9 groups, search their location for the day.
Although the very first count was begun on Christmas Day in 1900, as an option to searching, we now call it person science (with all its insufficiencies). The counts each year are affected by weather, however over years, patterns can be evaluated. Information is sent to the Long Point Bird Observatory.
So, if you see individuals driving gradually or utilizing field glasses, they are most likely part of this count.
If you have an interest in taking part, please phone Fern Splichal at 705-325-2952.
