The 73-year-old wound up in A&E, however fortunately, suffered no damaged bones.
Charlie Bird suffered a “bad fall” while out walking on Sunday and needed to check out the medical facility.
The previous RTÉ broadcaster, who was detected with motor neurone illness in 2021, shared the update on Twitter on Monday.
Bird informed fans he wound up in the emergency situation department at St Michael’s Hospital in Dún Laoghaire, however prevented any damaged bones.
Complimenting the “wonderful” medical staff, the 73-year-old said he will still have the ability to do the charity walk Darkness into Light on Saturday, in spite of his injuries.

In the post on Twitter, along with a photo of his face after the falls, the famous broadcaster composed: “Had a bad fall yesterday out walking. Ended up in A&E in Michael’s Dun Laoghaire.”
He continued to explain how in spite of the fall being bad, absolutely nothing was broken and the staff were wonderful, likewise specifying how he would still be doing the Darkness into Light walk.
Charlie continued in his post: “Thankfully nothing broken. Staff were fantastic. So will be able to do Darkness into Light with my friends Pieta in the Phoenix Park.”
