Workshop for kids: intro to birdwatching
May 13 is World Migratory Bird Day and a workshop for kids to commemorate this event will happen in Lagoa on that day from 4pm to 6pm.
Organisers will present kids aged 5 to 10 to birdwatching. “We will talk with them about migration of birds and why water is so important. We will do activities to get them involved, such as actual birdwatching, journaling their observations in a prepared journal that we will hand out before we set off, playing games, singing songs and doing a creative project which the children can take home,” they state.
“Our aim is to let the children know not only about this amazing and important world of birds but also to experience as much as possible first hand and enable them to have a positive experience being outside in nature. We are hoping to plant a seed that will grow into love and respect for nature, and which will cause the children (the next generation) to be more aware and respectful with it.”
Cost is €15 (consisting of product), with the charge going to support the motion “Salvar as Alagoas Brancas” (Save Alagoas Brancas).
Participants will receive in-depth details upon registration. For preparation functions, just signed up individuals can participate.
