“Funny Birds” follows Charlie (Saylor) who returns from boarding college to the New Jersey countryside to maintain her estranged mom Laura (Riseborough) who runs a small rooster farm. Their tense day-to-day life on the farm is turned the wrong way up when Laura’s mom Solange (Deneuve), an eccentric French feminist, reveals up unannounced. When a chicken flu epidemic begins threatening the farm, they’re pressured to rise above battle and heal old wounds.
