The Russet Sparrow (Passer rutilans) is referred to as Lal Gouriya in Hindi; Gouriya, the Hindi name for house sparrow. However, though it appears comparable to your home sparrow, the Russet Sparrow has a somewhat darker, russet-tinged plumage.
