A police inspector has advised the BBC how he was the primary to be tricked by a hen mimicking the sound of a siren.
But following investigations, the wrongdoer was discovered to be a hen.
The native wildlife belief stated the male blackbird was making the noise to each appeal to a mate in addition to warn different males away from its territory.
Insp Hills, from the roads policing unit, stated: “I sat at my desk after a weekend off and within the distance I may hear the faint sound of what seemed like a police siren and, as a result of we restore a whole lot of police automobiles right here, I assumed it was perhaps one which was faulty and the battery was beginning to go flat.”
“I got here outdoors and appeared up into the bushes and I may see the hen up within the bushes, clearly mimicking the sirens in a very skilled approach.”
When requested whether or not the “jailbird” needs to be arrested for impersonating a police automotive, Insp Hills stated: “If it begins to place a uniform on and use a few of its policing powers then we would have to have a look at it.”
Other followers on X, previously often known as Twitter, replied asking if the hen was a part of “particular department” or the “flying squad”.
Phil Bruss, from Berkshire, Buckinghamshire & Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust, stated: “The goal of the birdsong is to attain two main issues for the blackbird, it is making an attempt to promote its health to a mate, to the females, and it is also making an attempt to warn different males out of its territory.
“So it is successfully a mix of sitting on the prime of the tree shouting chat-up strains and in addition chanting ‘come and have a go when you suppose you are laborious sufficient’.”
