An entire host of animals have been caught on camera enjoying a night-time snack, and the photos are pretty funny.

Danae Wolfe, 36, was gifted a bird feeder camera to review on her TikTok channel and set it up in her garden in 2022.

She and her family are big wildlife enthusiasts and have spent eight years turning their backyard in Ohio, in the US into a haven for creatures native to the area.

But even they hadn’t expected quite such a plethora of animals to turn up and certainly not so quickly.

Danae, a conservation writer and photographer, said: ‘Much to our surprise, the funny photos and videos started the first night after we installed the camera.

‘We enjoyed seeing the birds visit during that first afternoon but later that night, the camera caught a cheeky raccoon stop by for a midnight snack.

‘The raccoon actually knocked the camera off its mount on the tree and the camera continued recording all night as raccoons, deer and skunks stopped by for a treat.’

Danae Wolfe, 36, from Wooster, Ohio, USA first set up the bird feeder camera in 2022, when she was gifted it for free by a company called Netvue for her to review on her TikTok platform. Danae and her family are passionate gardening and wildlife enthusiasts, and have spent the last 8 years transforming their yard to support the native wildlife of Ohio. But on the very first night of the camera being in place, Danae and her family were treated to some hilarious photos of some local wildlife paying a visit.

There have been quite a few nocturnal visits since, she stated, and the creatures generally convey their household and mates alongside.

‘We’ve had as many as 4 raccoons present up on any given night time – a mum and three infants.

‘The camera also once picked up a pair of turkeys – a male and a female – last year that I was hoping would become regular visitors, but we haven’t seen them since.’

‘We have been additionally stunned to see a flying squirrel squatting within the hen feeder trough one night time.

‘Though they are common squirrels in the eastern US, I’ve never seen one in our yard before, so it was super cool to see they’re hanging out in our neighborhood.’

Danae has amassed thousands of photos and videos over the past couple of years, but there’s one that really stands out for her.

She said: ‘I think my personal favorite is the photo of the deer that almost looks like a fish.

‘At first glance, it’s tough to make out what you’re looking at beyond the large eye and eyelashes. It’s such a funny perspective of a deer.’

The collection, released in October, has everything from a kangaroo playing air guitar to a baby monkey asking for a kiss.
