This album includes pianist Ewen Farncombe and singer Alex Bird carrying out 11 tracks they composed, Farncombe producing the music, Bird the lyrics. They explain their endeavours as jazz, although I don’t hear much of it.
With no back-up artists of any kind, the duo – polished to a point where you can almost see your face – provide what’s finest referred to as mixed drink music – accomplished, inconspicuous, enjoyable and an ideal enhance to the reasonable weather condition declared to obtain when good fellows get together and eat in an A-list hostelry.
The tunes, whilst providing no brand-new insight into the human condition, are inoffensive and harmless, making complete usage of real rhyme rather than assonance and I sense that this album will please a great deal of listeners.
