Tulsa Animal Shelter is experiencing overcrowding like many different shelters. So it is give you an incentive for nonprofits to try to alleviate a few of that stress.
Tulsa Animal Shelter has partnered with Best Friends Animal Society to pay nonprofit organizations who assist switch dogs to different shelters for adoption.
The shelter presently has greater than 200 medium sized, combined breed dogs.
Any organization that qualifies and helps transport dogs might obtain $100 for every canine or $150 for every canine that requires in depth documented medical care.
Sherri Carrier, the Tulsa Animal Welfare supervisor, mentioned that overcrowding on the shelter might result in illness for dogs and issues for the shelter itself.
“It sort of takes a workforce effort and extra simply to have the ability to handle all these animals within the facility. So the extra animals we are able to get out, the extra lives we are able to save. And hopefully the ability will not be as in danger for these potential hazards,” Carrier mentioned.
Best Friends Animal Society will present as much as $10,000 to nonprofits that assist out. The incentive program begins Friday, March 1 and runs via March 17.
