A group of 6 knowledgeable pilots are set to impress at Ayr’s new air program in September as council chiefs annouced the latest act to sign up with the costs.
Team RaVen- a development aerobatic screen of 6 extremely knowledgeable pilots – sign up with the line-up of remarkable acts to wow crowds at Ayr beachfront and Low Green as part of the International Ayr Show – Festival of Flight later on this year.
The group, who formed in 2014, will perform accuracy development flying, vibrant rolls, and close ‘opposition passes’ as they require to the skies over the town on Saturday, September 9.
Team RaVen will display their unbelievable abilities in the airplane they are properly called after- Van’s RV-8, an all-aluminium tandem two-seater, which have actually been customized with smoke systems.
The RV-8’s 180hp engine has an exceptional power-to-weight ratio which, integrated with an effective airframe, provides the airplane the efficiency and fighter-like handling that make it ideal for development flying.
The group sign up with the loaded program of acts, with Airborne Pyrotechnics, The Starlings Aerobatic Display Team, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, and The Red Arrows all on the costs already.
Councillor Alec Clark, the council’s representative for Tourism, Culture and Rural Affairs, said the list of aerial screens “keeps getting better and better.”
He included: “We’re pulling out all the stops to make this an unforgettable event, so to now have Team RaVen confirmed for the Saturday display schedule is superb.”
Leader of South Ayrshire Council, Councillor Martin Dowey, included: “With another aerial display booking confirmed, and still more to come, we’re going to put on a sensational show for all the family to enjoy this September. I can’t wait to see Team RaVen in action at the festival.”
Dr Geoff Coxon, CEO of theSKYLAB, said: “We are very fortunate to have such a skilful display team at the air show. Before forming the team in 2014, and switching to the more efficient RV-8 aircraft, the team used to display Hawker Hunter, Strikemaster and L29 Delfin jet aircraft where they were known as Team Viper and, latterly, the Red Star Rebels. So, we know that we are in for an absolutely blistering display.”
• The three-day occasion happens over Friday, September 8 to Sunday, September 10, with a host of air travel enjoyable, family home entertainment and destinations.
