Jackson’s Animal Rescue have issued an appeal for volunteers to help at their Mold location.

The rescue has two venues, including a Wildlife Centre in the Wirral which is an RSPCA approved wildlife rescue helping hedgehogs, wild birds, and other small mammals.

In September 2020 the rescue took on a new property in Mold, housing cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, farm animals, ducks, and some wildlife.

In a statement made via social media, a spokesperson at the rescue announced they were looking for volunteers for the centre in Mold.

The rescue is looking for volunteers “who are happy to give all the animals a go!”

In addition, the rescue shared the following details about the volunteer position; “As we head into spring we will have lots of kittens and feral cats coming in, we will need help with trapping and socialising”

Volunteers at the rescue start at 10am each day, and the work usually lasts until around 2pm.

As part of the rescue’s insurance policies, it is essential that volunteers are aged 18 and over.

The rescue added: “There is no minimum commitment, and you don’t need to always do the same day of the week. All we ask is that if you offer help, you show up or let us know if you can’t.

“The work is mostly outdoors, and the animals still need looking after when it rains, so we are looking for people not afraid to get wet and maybe a bit muddy!

“Due to the site and the work involved, we currently cannot accommodate those who have mobility needs, and you must be able to work independently.”

The jobs involves cleaning and feeding the animals, however this is followed by animal socialisation which the rescue shares is “everyone’s favourite part of the day”.

The rescue is holding hour long inductions on Friday, February 10 and Saturday 11 at 11am and 2pm.

Those attending do not need to book and are advised to wear sensible shoes and warm clothing.

Jackson’s animal rescue is located at Padeswood Lake Road, CH7 4HZ.
