Before we dive into the critiques, understand that at Quartz, we need to present an unbiased opinion for every pet insurance coverage firm. To do that, we are going to share some optimistic and destructive critiques from on-line websites similar to Trustpilot, BBB, Google, and Yelp.
Also, Figo modified underwriters in late 2019 and once more in 2020, so a few of the older critiques may be based mostly on older variations of the coverage.
Figo has a strong 4.0 on Trustpilot, a 3.0 on Google Reviews, a 4.1/5 from Consumer Affairs, a 3.0 on Yelp, and a 1.17/5 on the BBB web site.
Here are some buyer critiques:
Positive
“I have had a wonderful experience with FIGO thus far. My dog was sick and needed blood work, X-rays, follow up visits, medication, etc. once the deductible was met, they paid almost everything. It took a couple of weeks to get my reimbursement but I thought it was fairly timely. The only reason I gave 4 stars was because of this and because I have really only had one experience with them at this point. I would definitely recommend FIGO. This insurance saved me a lot of out of pocket expense with just one illness. We never found out what was wrong, but it waded up quickly and was a very high vet bill!” —Dan C., Trustpilot
“I should have gotten this years ago. After paying thousands of dollars for chemotherapy for one of my dogs, I decided to get Figo on my other two dogs. I haven’t had to file any expensive claims yet, but I know anything can happen no matter how well I take care of my fur-babies. I feel better knowing that if I ever need to take another dog to chemotherapy, it will be covered.” —Char, Trustpilot
“We love Figo! Our 90 lb GSD, Zigi, was a puppy mill rescue, and we’ve learned that anything that can go wrong with his health seems to. He has had multiple surgeries – some major, some not – most of which can be chalked up to a poor immune system, and Figo has been a bit of a savior for us. It’s stressful and heartbreaking enough when your dog gets hurt or is sick, but knowing the financial burden is going to be much less with Figo takes that part of the stress away. We are very grateful.” —Annie, Trustpilot
Negative
“I have gotten nothing from Figo (not even a dime toward my deductible) except a portable water bowl & a 25% increase in the rate for a two-year-old dog. Very disappointed. Figo is all show & no substance. Disappointed.” —Consumer, Trustpilot
