People: Debrett’s Private Finance; Richborough Estates; and more

Corporate advisory and investment practice Debrett’s Private Finance has bolstered its team with the appointment of director Max Gimson and principal Burhan Ahmed Zoarder.

Gimson has worked in high profile institutions such as Bank of Scotland and Rathbones Group. He has also worked in industry serving as CFO and CEO of a large healthcare business.

More recently he has undertaken entrepreneurial ventures and investments together with a number of property developments.

Zoarder began his career with a ‘big four’ accountancy firm providing tax advisory services to entrepreneurial and owner managed businesses. He subsequently transitioned into a corporate finance role and has gained a wealth of experience on numerous successful transactions including the sale of Julian Bowen to Storskogen and Piper’s £33m investment into Omlet, an award-winning design-led pet products brand.

Debrett’s Private Finance managing partner James England said: “It’s a fantastic time for Debrett’s Private Finance and I am delighted that Max and Burhan have joined us as we continue to grow and support our clients.”

In addition to the appointments, Harveer Gill has been promoted to principal.

Birmingham’s Richborough Estates has appointed Anabel Christmas as director of its fast-growing East region.

The chartered surveyor has joined from Redrow where she was head of land for the East Midlands. She previously held roles at JLL and Peveril Homes.

James Bradshaw, managing director (Eastern) at Richborough Estates, said: “We are thrilled that Anabel has joined the business as she brings with her a huge amount of experience, skill and expertise particularly from her background as a chartered surveyor and her work both on strategic and immediate land for housebuilders.

“Anabel will work with our existing clients and stakeholders to oversee and deliver a mature portfolio of sites and will also be tasked with adding quality land opportunities to the East region, one of our busiest and longest established within the business.”

Black Country accountancy and business advisory firm CK has promoted two senior managers to partner.

Alex Boulter and Mark Nicholls took up their new roles earlier this week.
