ASPCA dedicates $900,000 to support brand-new spay/neuter center and animal transportation center to increase positive results for dogs and cats in the state
NEW YORK CITY, May 16, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — Today, the ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) revealed $900,000 in grant financing to Oktibbeha County Humane Society (OCHS) in Starkville, Miss., to support the opening of the OCHS Animal Support Center by the ASPCA to increase positive results for animals in the state. The Animal Support Center will house the OCHS Snip and Spay Clinic, a fixed spay/neuter center for income-qualified family pet owners and shelter animals, and the VanLandingham Kennel Building, a center for the area’s shelter animals where they will be momentarily looked after prior to being carried to other shelters for adoption.
The Animal Support Center will enhance OCHS’s capability to look after animals in Starkville along with the surrounding neighborhoods with the objective of conserving more animals in their 17-county service location.
