A girl injured by a ‘dangerously uncontrolled canine’ has advised the way it attacked her on a Sheffield avenue as she tried to assist.

She was injured earlier than armed police have been despatched out, later capturing the animal.

Rachel Hanson, a canine lover, had seen the animal in the midst of Windmill Lane, close to Firth Park, and initially tried to assist it. But when she walked over to it with a lead, she was attacked and suffered a wound to her hand.
