Jumping from the height of the world’s 7 highest structures stacked on top of each other, 3 charity events from RSPCA Cornwall Branch will be handling this unbelievable obstacle that will see them skyrocket through the sky at Dunkeswell Airfield in Devon on Sunday, May 7.
The group set a £3,000 target and want to motivate animal enthusiasts to support rescue animals in the county by sponsoring them through their Just Giving page.
Those requiring to the sky to raise money for the charity have their own factors for wishing to participate in such a legendary obstacle.
Amber Lawrence, who will be wing-walking to mark her turning point 21st birthday, chose to handle the obstacle after seeing firsthand the distinction made to animals who show up in the care of the rescue centre.
The animal care assistant, who turns 21 on May 8, wished to get out of her convenience zone while assisting to raise sponsorship money for the animals.
Nicole Dodge, deputy supervisor at the charity’s rescue centre in St Columb, will be among the brave oppositions being strapped to the wing of an aircraft as it moves overhead.
After seeing firsthand the distinction the charity makes to animals rescued from cruelty and overlook in Cornwall, she set herself a £1,500 target and is motivating individuals to reveal their assistance for rescue animals by sponsoring her through her Just Giving page.
She said: “I am afraid of heights and have lost a lot of my confidence with anything to do with heights over the years but what better way to challenge myself and face my fear than being strapped on top of a plane!”
Nicole, who will be taking a trip in between 80mph and 130mph throughout the 10 minute flight which will consist of dives and doglegs, said she is inspired by the animals’ lives that are changed by the care of the group at the centre with more than 600 animals rehomed or launched in 2015.
The charity is eager to duplicate the obstacle and would enjoy to speak with animal enthusiasts who’d likewise leap at the possibility to dive from the skies.
