Jonathan Hollings died at Norfolk and Norwich Hospital on October 21 after 4 days in crucial care following a cardiac arrest at his home in Wood Norton, close to Fakenham.
At the time, the 64-year-old was sitting on the couch alongside his husband of 30 years, Mark, who stated: “He was the loveliest person I’ve ever met. He would do something for anybody. Even till the top he was pondering of others, that’s what he was like.
“He was telling me a few pal getting a rushing ticket, after which he by no means spoke once more.
“He was my world, my real love, I’ll by no means discover anybody nearly as good as him.”
The pair met on the Norwich pub, the Lord Raglan, in May 1993.
Mr Hollings stated how his future husband requested him for the time to strike up a dialog – regardless of carrying a watch.
In July, he moved from his hometown of Norwich to Fakenham to be with Mark the place the pair would work alongside one another at Drifters fish and chip store.
Mark labored there for 32 years and Jonathan for 26 years – they might ultimately co-own the business for seven years, before selling it in 2019.
After promoting, the pair purchased a motorhome and travelled to Scotland. The couple then began one other business – Keep it tidy in and out.
“He was the biggest people person, he was front of house everywhere we worked,” Mark added.
“He missed hospitality so much he went back to work at the Dun Cow at Salthouse and was working there a week before he passed.”
Before his marriage to Mark, he was married and had two kids – Adam Hollings and Emma Marrison.
Ms Marrison paid tribute to her father: “I felt like he was my rock my entire life. If I need anything he was always there for me.”
His funeral will likely be held at St Peters and St Paul parish church in Fakenham on November 8 at 1pm, with the household asking for both flowers or donations to the British Heart Foundation, Dogs Trust, or Diabetes UK.
