Three-year-old dog connected to gate was discovered dead by rescue employees

A three-year-old dog which rescuers presumed was discarded by their owner was discovered dead on Thursday.

Twin Towns Lost and Found Dogs supervisor Doreen Russell said 2 dogs were connected with orange cable to a gate in the Gleneely location next to the school, near the Killygordon crossroads.

Doreen said: “The 2 dogs were connected so they were collaborated so then the wee one should entered through a fence which led to a wire around his neck and he passed away. The larger one need to have retreated.”

The larger dog sat next to the dog which had actually craved a while prior to it left. The 2nd dog left the cable and was seen strolling around the location. Farmers and residents attempted to capture the dog in efforts to save them. 

“The sad feature of it is the wee dog might have been rehomed,” she said. 

The dogs were cracked, Russel said. 

Doreen said the rescue was distressing for those included. Doreen said the variety of dogs that are being discarded and given up is increasing. The 2nd is thin at present and it will be a month prior to he can be rehomed. 

Doreen has a huge garage on facilities transformed for dogs and she likewise looks after cats. 

“We are keeping up couple of volunteers. I am really lucky with volunteers, I have somebody every early morning that clears out the location every early morning. I have somebody who assists me with the veterinarian runs and another person who assists with the cats. I have 2 cateries and it is simply a matter of feeding them.”

She said it will be a month prior to the 2nd dog is rehomed due to the fact that she said that it was really overlooked and was out in bad weather condition.
