She said: “This is Cat Squad’s 3rd year and we are experiencing the worst duration given that we started in 2021, with a large and continuing varieties of cat desertions.

“The cost of living crisis certainly plays a part, however Cat Squads primary issue is the horrifically escalating cost of veterinary treatment due to investment firm monopolising the veterinary occupation and putting veterinary treatment out of the reach of many individuals.

“Given the good condition and friendly nature of Charles and Camilla, they were certainly well looked after animals so Cat Squad presume they were discarded due to the cost of keeping them.

“Had Camilla been purified and Charles neutered, the pregnancy would not have actually taken place, however with spays now costing well over £100, individuals can’t manage it and the only alternative delegated some individuals is to eliminate their cats.”

Charles was sterilized by the PDSA and Camilla will be purified soon when her kittens are completely weaned.

The charity is now appealing for brand-new houses for both Charles and Camilla and their kittens.
