Stuttgart Animal Shelter urgently looking for foster and adoptive houses as kennels fill

The Stuttgart Animal Shelter is complete. It is an issue that animal supporter, Babe Free, said is not brand-new.

“We are doubling up in some of the kennels. Adopt or foster. We need you,” Free said.

Free is the regional program leader for Rescue Road, a non-profit organization that looks for foster houses in Arkansas for shelter dogs.

“Our mission is to redirect happy, healthy, adoptable dogs that are currently in high-kill shelters and enter into other networks to help them find their forever family,” Free said.

Since the program come from 2012, over 6,000 dogs have actually been saved. Stuttgart, Pine Bluff, Hazen, Little Rock, Dewitt, West Memphis, and Carlisle are dog rescue websites. “You do have to sign an agreement to get the animal spayed or neutered. We will do a checkup on that. You also have to take it to get its rabies shot,” Free said.
