The RSPCA will rejoice 200 years since its formation by unveiling new pet meals banks areas throughout Surrey this 12 months.
The charity has various established pet meals banks with plans for extra in Surrey to assist the rising variety of pet homeowners in want of assist.
Already this 12 months 15,400 canine meals and 27,270 cat meals have been supplied to pet meals financial institution customers.
RSPCA nationwide meals financial institution co-ordinator, Alison Fletcher, stated: “Sadly our rescuers are often coming across people who are struggling to feed themselves and will go without food themselves so they can afford to feed their pets.
“With the help of the public, we’ve been changing animals’ lives for two centuries, so it is really fitting that in our 200th birthday year we can announce this major expansion to ensure ‘no community goes without’.”
The nearest present pet meals banks are positioned in Alton, Bordon, Headley and Guildford.
