Investigators are trying to find the offender of a surprising act of animal cruelty after a cat was deserted on a suburban driveway with gunshot wounds.
RSPCA WA is looking for solutions after a lady discovered the black and white cat on her driveway on Patrick Way, Huntingdale dragging his again legs and unable to walk on Monday, October 2.
A vet discovered the cat had been shot twice, as soon as within the backbone and as soon as within the chest, which had left him paralysed in his again legs and tail. The vet determined euthanasia was the kindest choice.
It is known the cat was a stray because it didn’t have a microchip or a collar.
RSPCA WA inspector supervisor Kylie Green mentioned they had been eager to catch the person accountable.
“The thought of someone deliberately shooting at a cat and leaving it to suffer is just horrendous,” she mentioned.
“Imagine the pain and confusion he would have been in for goodness knows how long.
“It’s quite sickening to think there’s someone out there who thinks this kind of cruelty is OK.”
This most recent act of cat cruelty comes following the drowning of a beloved household pet in Bayswater in August.
In 2022, Max Loketi was jailed for 12 months after he tortured and maliciously beat a cat to dying as his good friend laughed and recorded the act of cruelty.
The most penalty for animal cruelty is a $50,000 wonderful and 5 years in jail.
