RSPCA fears animals discovered dead in lay-by were unlawfully hunted

A collection of animals discovered dead in a lay-by might have been triggered in unlawful hunting, the RSPCA worries.

Two foxes, 4 bunnies and a badger were all discovered dead in a lay-by with dog attack-like injuries, the animal charity said.

The bodies were discovered disposed a ditch near Ashford, Kent, on 3 May.

All the animals other than the badger had injuries constant with being assaulted by dogs, the RSPCA said, with inspectors stating it recommended somebody was hunting them utilizing dogs.

Using dogs to hunt and eliminate animals has actually been unlawful in the UK given that 2004.

The RSPCA said it was unclear whether the injuries were caused while the animals were dead or alive and required countryside homeowners to be on the watch out for unlawful hunting.

RSPCA inspector said: “We can’t make certain if these dog bite injuries were triggered after the animals were dead or when they lived – and we’re eager to discover if somebody is heading out hunting for wild animals with their dogs.

“We are prompting anybody who understands anything about this, or who might have seen somebody acting suspiciously in the location, to call us in total self-confidence so we can check out what took place.”
