RSPCA will host Community Action Days within the Great Southern later this month to supply free provides and recommendation to pet house owners in want.
The Community Action Day occasions will embrace free canine well being checks and microchipping, free canine and cat meals and free flea and worming therapies.
Each session will run for 3 hours with Katanning’s beginning at 9am on the Ram Pavilion on September 16 and Albany’s starting at midday on the Rainbow Coast Community Garden on September 17.
RSPCA WA’s Great Southern Inspector Georgina Brown mentioned Albany was the cruellest area within the State after town registered 190 animal cruelty stories.
“Albany generated more cruelty reports than any other regional local government area last financial year and lack of food or vet care are top concerns for pets in the area,” she mentioned.
Ms Brown mentioned pet possession was turning into more and more tough because of the cost-of-living disaster and RSPCA hoped to make life a bit of simpler for pet house owners.
“It’s hoped this support will ease some pressure on family budgets and help stop small health problems for pets becoming big and expensive ones,” Ms Brown mentioned.
“We want to keep much-loved pets together with their owners wherever possible.
