The birds were discovered dead by a member of the general public.
The individual called the RSPCA, which, after examining the death of the birds, discovered air weapon pellets inside their bodies.
The animal well-being charity is now appealing for info after the morbid discovery of the birds beside the play area in Tricketts Cross, Ferndown, on April 21.
RSPCA inspector Graham Hammond said: “It is worrying that these pigeons had actually been shot and left in such a method. All were still in rigor, suggesting this was an extremely recent occasion.
“All are thought to have actually been killed by a pellet ball, which has actually appeared on the x-ray.
“Such unnecessary and callous attacks can cause a lot of pain and distress to birds and are often fatal as was the case with these birds. Anyone with information should contact the RSPCA on 0300 123 8018.”
Offenders can deal with a fine of as much as £5,000 and 6 months in jail for eliminating or hurting a wild bird, under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, other than under licence.
