A County Roscommon animal charity has assisted in an incident when one swan was killed and one other injured after they flew into powerlines.
The Roscommon SPCA CLG acquired a name from Gardaí after two swans hit energy strains in Portnahinch, Kilteevan.
One of the swans was killed through the incident whereas one other is at present recovering from accidents sustained however is anticipated to make a full restoration.
Roscommon SPCA CLG will now contact ESB networks to ask them if one thing might be added to the electrical energy strains to extend visibility for flying birds.
The charity stated, “Thank you to Kildare Wild Life, Kildare Wildlife Rescue and Claddagh Swan Rescue for their helpful advice.
“Also thank you Nicky for checking things out for us.
“Swan is doing okay.
“Has a cut near his beak but no broken wings and is now back on a stretch of water.
“We will email ESB networks to ask them if they can put some of those round things on the line so the swans can see where the lines are.”
