A volunteer from Middleton has actually marked twenty years at the town’s RSPCA charity shop.
Neil Kay, 52, reached the turning point on 4 July, and volunteers at the shop most days from 9am to 2pm.
He started offering at the shop, which supports the Rochdale & District branch of the RSPCA, when signing up with the regional Job Centre.
Shop supervisor Lisa Brennan says the shop “would be lost without him.”
She said: “Neil understands the ins and outs of whatever. He arranges all the books and CDs and bric-a-brac and likewise hangs around on the till. He’s got a colour-coded system for things to demonstrate how numerous weeks they’ve been on the rack.
“He gets on with everyone and he’s such a hard worker. We really appreciate everything he’d done.”
Neil received a £20 Amazon coupon, cakes and chocolate as a ‘thank you’ from the RSPCA.
