Traffic on a part of busy Interstate 80 heading into San Francisco needed to be stopped for the rescue of a rabbit noticed alongside the freeway, animal management officers in California reported.
A photograph posted to Facebook on Friday, Sept. 15, by town’s Animal Care & Control company reveals the frightened rabbit huddled alongside the freeway.
A passerby noticed the rabbit and known as animal management officers, who stopped westbound site visitors on I-80 from the Bay Bridge to rescue it, officers mentioned.
“She is healthy, uninjured and doing well in our care,” officers mentioned. A second photograph reveals the brown-furred rabbit in her new home.
If nobody claims the rabbit for a number of days, it could be put up for adoption. Shelter employees have nicknamed the rabbit Elektra “after another female daredevil of note.”
“Oh my goodness, I saw this rabbit! I was scared to stop and go back, and just did not know what to do. I wasn’t sure how to describe the location, so I didn’t call in. I am so glad that somebody did,” learn one touch upon the Facebook publish.
