Take a “paws” and consider how the little act of embracing or promoting a shelter family pet can make a huge effect on your neighborhood.
“Providing a loving home for a shelter pet not only helps with overpopulation, but it also encourages those around you to adopt,” said Huntsville Animal Services Director Dr. Karen Sheppard. “When you adopt or foster a pet, you save a life. It’s that simple.”
To help clear the shelter’s overcrowded kennels, Animal Services is acknowledging National Rescue Dog Day on Saturday, May 20. The shelter is likewise waiving adoption costs on the majority of adult family pets through completion of May.
The shelter has several immediate animals that require caring houses. Whether dogs go home through adoption or briefly through the foster program, Sheppard said clearing the kennels need to be a leading concern for City citizens intending to help their neighborhood.
Each family pet is purified or neutered, microchipped and immunized prior to leaving the shelter. The animals likewise feature a City license and totally free bag of family pet food while products last. Click here to see pictures, ages and descriptions of available animals.
