Looking to support an excellent cause while having an enjoyable time? Attend July 1 at Putts for Paws 2023, a charity golf competition for the Hawai‘i Island Humane Society.
The four-person scramble format on Mauna Lani’s north course will challenge brand-new golf enthusiasts and old pros.
Compete to win rewards, satisfy adoptable dogs in between golf holes and enjoy delicious drinks while supporting the objective of the Hawai‘i Island Humane Society. Check in starts at 8 a.m. with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Lunch and an awards banquet follow at the Fairmont Orchid.
“We are so thrilled to be hosting the Putts for Paws golf tournament again after a long hiatus. It will be the first time that we’re putting on the golf tournament since prior to the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Hawai‘i Island Humane Society Chief Executive Officer Lauren Nickerson. “We’re looking forward to a beautiful day at Mauna Lani filled with long drives and short putts in celebration of the animals and in support of our lifesaving work on Hawai‘i Island.”

Hawai‘i Island Humane Society saves the lives of over 97% of the dogs, cats, and rabbits that come through their doors at the two lifesaving locations at the Kea‘au Shelter and in Kona at the Animal Community Center. Everyone who plays in the Putts for Paws Charity Golf Tournament will help the Hawai‘i Island Humane Society’s objective to avoid cruelty to animals, remove animal overpopulation and improve the bond in between people and animals.
“Our animal friends deserve love, comfort and joy and we would like to do more. Your kokua helps to provide veterinary care, behavior support, enrichment, nutrition, adoption counseling transport, fostering and so much more,” said Lauren Nickerson.
