Three males have been arrested at a caravan park on suspicion of animal welfare offences.

Four puppies, two cockerels and two hens, in addition to a number of weapons, have been seized by police after a warrant was carried out on Tuesday morning (February 27) in East Challow.

The warrant was executed beneath the Animal Welfare Act at a caravan park in Woodhill Lane, supported by the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU).

Three males, aged 53, 31 and 24, all from the Vale of White Horse, have been arrested on suspicion of inflicting pointless struggling to a protected animal, failure to satisfy the wants of a protected animal, and conspiracy to commit fraud.

They have been launched beneath investigation to permit additional enquiries to be accomplished.

The animals are actually within the care of the RSPCA who’re park of an ongoing joint police investigation.

Superintendent Nicole Murphy, who led the police operation, mentioned: “We have worked with our partners at the RSPCA to execute a warrant at a caravan park near East Challow.

“Three men have been arrested while eight animals and a quantity of weapons have been recovered.

“Our joint investigation with the RSPCA is ongoing.”

An RSPCA spokesperson mentioned: “RSPCA officers joined Thames Valley Police as they executed a warrant at a caravan park in East Challow today.

“Four puppies and four chickens were removed by police and are now in RSPCA care.

“An investigation is ongoing so we won’t be releasing any further information at this stage.”
