Paws, Pets & Metal is Metal Insider’s latest column on bands with animals, finding who sees them on the roadway, and more. Get to understand more about these metal furbabies. We overtook Fall of Earth’s Brodie Bauer (guitar, vocals) who talks everything about his cat called Corpsegrinder.

Tell us more about your animal(s) and their names?

I have the most fantastic cat worldwide, and her name is Corpsegrinder! Named after the singer for the death metal band, “Cannibal Corpse”. She is an advanced cat, who is extremely respectful and friendly. She enjoys being around individuals and is constantly down to get animals and snuggles. She is well-known for her renowned mustache and cute cat look. Corpsegrinder simply recently turned 3 years of ages and has actually been my infant because I discovered her at 6 months.

Have you ever taken your animal on trip?

No, I have not, and I in fact haven’t ever become aware of this being a thing that individuals do. But I believe it’s incredible that other metal artists take their furry buddies with them on the roadway! I’m sure Corpsegrinder would like to go on an experience with us at some point, however sadly, she does not take pleasure in car flights.

Who takes care of your animal while on the roadway?

My roomie typically takes care of Corpsegrinder while we’re on the roadway, and offers her all the love while I’m gone. My roomie likewise has 2 cats of her own, so Corpsegrinder gets to hang out with her cat homies. I do miss her huge time while we’re on trip and am constantly thrilled to see her when I come home. She’s so sweet and devoted too, she conserves up all her additional cat snuggles for me whenever I return after trip!

What’s your animal’s preferred tune or album?

Corpsegrinder’s preferred tune is quickly Evisceration Plague, by her preferred band Cannibal Corpse. I haven’t in fact seen her headbang to this tune however I pretend in my head that she does, and if death metal doesn’t frighten a cat then I take that as a good indication!

How did you present your animal to metal?

When I initially discovered Corpsegrinder in 2020, I was residing in a house with my bandmates and good friends, and there was constantly metal playing 24/7. She’s been around metal her entire life, similar to her daddy. I believe she’s been wishing to learn how to play the guitar so I’m intending on teaching her quickly!

What animal charity indicates most to you?

I utilized to work for World Wildlife Fund, which charity is extremely essential to me. Their value on threatened animals and securing our stunning wildlife is something I mean. It was an honor to be part of this cause and to help raise awareness and funds for them. I likewise highly support our regional animal charities here in Edmonton, particularly The Edmonton Humane Society, which focuses on domestic animals, and conserving them from regrettable scenarios.
