Gwen McEwan from Arncott strolled from her house in the town to Ambrosden, an overall of 7 miles.

The money raised is being contributed to Maggie’s Oxford, a cancer charity that provides assistance to anybody with the illness and their households.

She provided the £1,850 cheque to charity agent Kathy Talbot on Saturday (April 22).

Oxford Mail:

Ms McEwan said: “I simply wish to let everybody understand where the money is going.

“I have this little dog called Pebbles and my grandson walked behind me just in case I had an accident”

The 81-year-old was influenced to raise money for charity after her other half died from cancer in 1995.
