Owner of Rescue Organization Charged with Animal Cruelty After Authorities Discover 12 Animal Carcasses

The proprietor of a non-profit organization for animals could soon face jail time for animal cruelty.

On Friday, April 5, Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón introduced prices towards Damian Wesley, who owns Compton Animal Rescue, for animal cruelty and neglect of greater than two dozen dogs, per a press release.

Authorities made the discoveries after search warrants have been obtained and executed by the L.A. County District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigation and the L.A. County Department of Animal Care and Control (DACC).

According to Wesley’s non-profit web site, Compton Animal Rescue is “driven to do our part in making the community of Compton a safe community for both animals and residents.”
