Then Cats’ Protection North Antrim and Glens Branch needs to listen to from you as they urgently want cat foster carers.

Cats’ Protection North Antrim and Glens Branch does not have a bodily location or shelter, they’re absolutely run by unpaid volunteers from their very own properties, in order that they immediately depend on foster volunteers with spare rooms of their properties to maintain cats/kittens in want.

A department spokesperson mentioned: “We unfortunately only have a few foster volunteers, and with the mounting demand this year, we are really in need of foster volunteers to help us take care of kittens until we can find them new homes.

“This year has been the worst we have seen in many for abandonments of friendly cats and kittens, so we would also really urge everyone to be responsible and neuter their cats at 4 months old – there is a subsidised neutering scheme for those on benefits or low income, which will neuter and microchip your cat for only £10 with local participating vets: https://www.cats.org.uk/what-we-do/neutering/financial-assistance

We cover the BT41-BT44, and BT51-BT57 areas so we are recruiting in this area particularly for fosterers, but we do also have other volunteer roles available.”

Full information about roles and further information on the role of fostering can be found on the branch website:

The spokesperson continued: “We provide full training, expenses and support for our volunteers in all roles so you don’t need to be an expert, and it should not cost anyone to volunteer for us.

“Fostering is an ideal role if, long term, you cannot commit to a pet but can enjoy caring temporarily for cats and kittens knowing they will get great homes. We are a very small but dedicated group, and would love to have more cat loving people join our team.

“We would encourage anyone outside our postcode areas to still get in touch, as we can point anyone interested outside our branch area to the branch that covers their area.”
