During the COVID-19 pandemic, I, like many individuals, experienced a deep sense of disconnection with others. Social distancing steps, lockdowns and working from home decreased physical and psychological contact for much of us.
Despite having a family, I ended up being significantly stressed out and nervous about how separated I felt, especially from my neighborhood. How could I get in touch with others in my street and location after spending so long preventing all sorts of contact?
Even after the pandemic faded into the background of daily life, my sense of solitude and disconnection continued. I attempted litter-picking in my regional neighborhood to fortify the sensations and change them into positive action. Still, these voluntary occasions were weeks apart, and in a lot of cases, we separated throughout a large green space, getting litter alone.
