Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue and RSPCA rescue muntjac deer caught between 2 Louth homes

A hapless deer wanted rescuing by the RSPCA and firefighters after getting wedged the other way up in between two homes.

The animal charity have been known as after the muntjac grew to become trapped in a tiny hole between the partitions of the properties in Louth on Thursday final week (January 25).

Animal rescue officer Karen Nix attended along with her colleague Inspector Laura Jones the place they have been assisted by a crew from Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service .

Karen mentioned: “This was a tricky rescue because the deer was trapped so tightly and to complicate matters was also upside down – it must have been terrifying for him.

“Thankfully he was freed and it was such a relief to watch him run free into the undergrowth.

“I’d like to say a huge thank-you to Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service for attending the rescue; the deer could not have been saved without them.”

A Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson, mentioned: “Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue attended an incident with the RSPCA on January 25, just before 10am.

“Our crew from Louth attended along with our animal rescue specialists from Lincoln North.

“The crews used a short extension ladder, lines, hook and animal rescue equipment to release the muntjac deer.”
